We use genome-scale metabolic models and constraint-based analysis to study cellular pathways, nutrient requirements and production characteristics. Work on enzyme-capacity-constrained CHO-cell models, cell-line-specific polyamine metabolism and data-driven, model-guided media development connects biological understanding with bioprocess design.

WHY IT MATTERS

Understanding how cells use nutrients provides a biological basis for cell-line-specific media and culture strategies.
